Do you know the difference between atonement for sin and remission of sin? Atonement is an Old Testament reference to the covering of sin by the shedding of the blood of bulls, goats, rams or some other animal that was determined by God to use for the sin offering. The only problem with it is that it had to be done over and over by the Levitical priest through the centuries.
